Collection: Dining Table

The right dining table for an Indian home depends on room size and material more than style. Solid sheesham or mango wood is the most practical top material: it withstands daily use, resists scratching better than veneer, and ages well, while marble or glass tops look striking but need more upkeep and cost more to replace if damaged. A 4-seater table runs roughly 120 to 140 cm long, a 6-seater 150 to 180 cm, and a round 4-seater about 90 to 110 cm across. Leave at least 90 cm of clearance on each side so chairs can be pulled out comfortably. Rectangular tables suit most Indian dining rooms; round tables work better in smaller, squarer spaces. Before buying, check whether the base is solid wood throughout or only the visible surface. Lakkadhaara dining tables are handcrafted from solid sheesham, starting at 28,000 rupees, in 4, 6, and 8-seater sizes.
